What mattress firmness is best for back pain?

The most important factor is maintaining a neutral spine in your preferred sleeping position. The ideal mattress balances both support and comfort. We recommend trying any mattress for at least 5-10 minutes in your normal sleeping position.

What size bed should I buy for my room?

Most people in NZ choose a queen bed for standard bedrooms. Aim to leave at least 60-75cm of space around the sides of the bed. Queen suits most rooms, King or Super King for larger rooms, Double or King Single for smaller rooms or guest rooms.

What are the standard bed sizes in New Zealand?

Standard NZ mattress sizes: Single 900x1900mm, Long Single 900x2030mm, King Single 1070x2030mm, Double 1350x1900mm, Long Double 1350x2030mm, Queen 1500x2030mm, King 1650x2030mm, Super King 1800x2030mm, California King 2030x2030mm.

How often should you replace a mattress?

Most mattresses should be replaced every 7-10 years. Replace sooner if you wake feeling sore or stiff, notice visible sagging, or sleep better in other beds than your own.

Is memory foam or pocket spring better?

Neither is strictly better - it comes down to personal preference. Memory foam contours closely and reduces partner movement but can feel warmer. Pocket spring is more responsive and breathable. The best choice is what feels right for you when you lie on it.

What mattress is best for side sleepers?

Side sleepers usually do best on a medium to medium-soft mattress that cushions the shoulders and hips while keeping the spine neutral. Too firm creates pressure points, too soft misaligns the lower back.
